Ancaster Soccer Club Weather Policy

All soccer events will run during rain unless fields are deemed “unplayable” and closed by the City of Hamilton and/or the Hamilton Wentworth School Board.

Lightening/Thunder/Inclement Weather:

Ancaster Soccer Club follows the Ontario Soccer Association’s Lightening Policy.
The 30/30 rule is below.

30/30 RULE
When you see lightning, count the time until you hear thunder. If this time is thirty (30) seconds or less, seek proper shelter. Wait thirty (30) minutes or more after hearing the last thunder before leaving the shelter. If you can not see the lightning, just hearing the thunder is a good back up rule.

The Referee officiating the game is responsible for calling the game at this point. The League will only do this for extenuating circumstances.

During Heat Advisories and Heat Warnings, issued by the City of Hamilton, water breaks will be introduced during game play. Coaches and Officials should meet prior to the start of the game to ensure all parties have been communicated to on when these will occur. It is under the discretion of the House League Coordinator to if games will be cancelled.

Indoor programming is subject to Redeemer University College facility closure. In extreme weather conditions the Club will advise members when programming is cancelled.

For any of the conditions listed above, the following steps will be taken:

If at any time programming is cancelled, ASC will have communication posted through the Clubs Facebook and Twitter accounts. An email will also be sent to the Clubs membership.
